Arnaut Danjuma sends message to Everton fans as Goodison Park decision made

Everton loanee Arnaut Danjuma has sent a farewell message to supporters ahead of his return to parent club Villarreal.
Danjuma arrived at Goodison Park on a season-long loan last summer, six months after the Toffees missed out to Tottenham for his signature.
The Dutchman did not have the impact many had predicted, though, and a return to Villarreal was always going to be a certainty this summer.
Danjuma posted on his Instagram page [21 May]: “To the incredible Everton fans, thank you for the unforgettable memories and unwavering support.
“It’s been an honour to wear the blue jersey. Forever in my heart, Arnaut Danjuma. #COYB.”
Arnaut Danjuma fails to impress on loan at Everton
It is fair to say Danjuma’s loan spell never truly took off. The winger scored in back-to-back games early in the season, but that is pretty much it.
Indeed, since netting against Sheffield United on 2 September, Danjuma failed to register another goal involvement for the Toffees.
The caveat to that is he only played a further 15 times for the club, the last of which came against Fulham in a goalless draw on 30 January.
It is perhaps no coincidence that Danjuma’s attempt to push through a move in the January transfer window coincided with him not playing again.
Even if Everton had the chance to sign the 27-year-old for a bargain fee this summer, you would expect Sean Dyche would say no.
Whether or not he has a future at Villarreal remains to be seen, but Danjuma’s absence next season will not be felt at all at Everton.
