CURRY SHINES AS STRUGGLING SPURS LOSE AGAIN IN NBA, NEW YORK KNICKS LAND BIG COMEBACK WIN

The Golden State Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, defeated the struggling San Antonio Spurs for the eleventh time in a row to preserve their prospects of making it to the NBA In-Season Tournament. With a strong effort that included 35 points, Curry gave the Warriors a chance to compete for a position in the elimination rounds. In other news, the New York Knicks performed admirably to stage the biggest comeback of the year at MSG.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs in San Francisco on Friday for the 11th time in a row behind 35 points from Stephen Curry.
With one game remaining in the NBA In-Season Tournament, the 35-year-old scored seven 3-pointers in the 118-112 victory that gave the Warriors hope of moving on to the next round of the tournament.

With the game also counted toward the regular season, rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs team ended up its disastrous NBA Cup schedule with a goal of snapping a 10-game losing streak. However, this also left their Western Conference chances severely diminished.

Despite having 22 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks, Wembanyama—who caused a stir on social media when his jersey’s misspelled name went viral—was unable to help the Spurs overcome the Curry-inspired Warriors.
Late in the game, things got interesting when the San Antonio team, trailing 110-95 with just 2:49 remaining, mounted a comeback to win 110-106 and force a turnover with 55.1 seconds remaining.

However, Curry and Klay Thompson were able to win the game from the free-throw line because Keldon Johnson missed a 3-point shot.
Curry stated, “We still have a lot to learn,” following the Warriors’ second victory in their previous nine games. However, it’s good to be involved and have a shot still. Right now, honey, we need every victory we can get!

With 20 points off the bench, Dario Saric contributed as well. The Warriors advanced to 2-1 in their NBA Cup campaign, even the score with the Minnesota Timberwolves in West Group C as they contend for a top-two finish.
As a result, the Spurs are still at the bottom of the Western Conference regular season standings, while the Warriors are now in 10th place.

The New York Knicks put on a show to pull off the biggest comeback of the season at Madison Square Garden, but the Spurs were unable to complete a comeback.
RJ Barrett’s game-winning three-pointer and conversion with 1:59 remaining in the third quarter helped the Knicks overcome a 21-point deficit to win 100-98 in the final seconds to avoid losing to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Before playing the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday in their East Group B finale, the New York team won a critical game because to late-game heroics from Barrett and Jalen Brunson, who helped them outscore the Heat 29-11 in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls suffered their third straight loss in a 121-108 loss to the Toronto Raptors, while the LA Clippers made a valiant effort to mount a comeback of their own but lost 116-106 against the New Orleans Pelicans, ending their hopes of winning the NBA Cup.

With one game remaining, the Milwaukee Bucks maintained their lead in East Group B with a 131-128 victory over the Washington Wizards, while the Sacramento Kings defeated the Timberwolves, who lead the Western Conference, 124-111 to advance to the top of Group C.
