Tottenham now want to sign £43m Premier League player

The January transfer window is certainly hotting up and Tottenham Hotspur now want to sign a player who’s impressed James Maddison recently.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham team were said to have three targets in this window: a defender, a midfielder and a forward.

And with a deal for Timo Werner now almost completed, Postecoglou looks to have secured his striker.

Moreover, a move for centre-back Radu Dragusin is also progressing well, even if Bayern Munich are now interested.

And that just leaves a midfielder.

Fortunately for Tottenham fans, it seems the club have now identified some targets.

According to Mail Sport’s ‘Transfer Confidential‘, Tottenham are now interested in a move for Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White.

Spurs already raided Forest for Brennan Johnson in the summer, and it seems his former £43m teammate could be next.

Postecoglou’s side are said to be tracking Gibbs-White with the summer window in mind, which makes sense given Forest’s inevitable position in January.

That being said, Tottenham could definitely do with such a profile immediately, especially given how long key player James Maddison has now been missing.

James Maddison thinks Tottenham target Morgan Gibbs-White is a great player

Maddison previously sent a congratulatory message to Gibbs-White after he won the Under-21 European Championships with England.

He said: “Congrats mate!! Brilliant tournament.”

And if Tottenham were able to achieve a deal for a player of Gibbs-White’s ability next summer, there’s no doubt he’d look right at home alongside Maddison.

It’s certainly an exciting thought.

However, the here and now is much more important for Spurs, they still need to achieve a lot in this window.

And perhaps today’s developments have now provided another important reason why Tottenham need to sign Radu Dragusin as soon as possible.

Although all is looking promising right now, Spurs will need to get their moves over the line.

And if the club aren’t able to fend off interest from Bayern Munich for Dragusin this month, then they might be well advised to consider another former Chelsea player after Werner.
