Tottenham attacker Ivan Perisic is poised to leave the club to rejoin his childhood club, Hajduk Split.
Tottenham News reports that a reliable source connected to the player has indicated that the winger will return to Croatia in the summer.
The winger suffered an ACL injury during training in September.
The injury, necessitating surgery on his right knee has sidelined Perisic and is expected to keep him out of action for an estimated 5 to 6 months, effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the current season.
He was in great form under Ange Postecoglou, prior to the unfortunate injury.
In fact, he played a big role in their stunning comeback against Sheffield United.
But that may end up being his final contribution at the club.
Perisic’s contract with the Lilywhites will expire in June next year, and the report suggests that he might not extend the agreement.
Instead, the winger will be returning to his native country, where he will likely reunite with his boyhood club, Hajduk Split where his illustrious career began.
His journey has spanned across powerhouse clubs like Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Borussia Dortmund, and has won some major trophies including the Champions League and multiple league championships.
