Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Ajax wonderkid Stanis Idumbo Muzambo but now face a real battle with La Liga side Sevilla.
Tottenham have placed a keen focus on signing young talent to develop for the future.
Alejo Veliz and Ashley Phillips joined Tottenham in August whilst Hajduk Split wonderkid Luka Vuskovic will be joining in 2025.
Tottenham also signed Jude Soonsup-Bell earlier this year and Spurs may now have a January singing in mind…
Tottenham Hotspur face a battle to sign Stanis Idumbo Muzambo
The new target for Spurs is Ajax talent Stanis Idumbo Muzambo.
Reports in Belgium last week indicated that Tottenham had made an offer to sign Idumbo Muzambo, verbally presenting him with a four-year contract.
Idumbo Muzambo is out of contract at the end of the season and Tottenham are allegedly making their move.
The 18-year-old missed Jong Ajax’s game against FC Eindhoven over the weekend, but that was allegedly down to illness rather than an imminent transfer.
Fabrizio Romano now claims that Tottenham are poised to send an official proposal to Idumbo Muzambo – but so are Sevilla.
Romano claims that Idumbo Muzambo has already decided to leave Ajax and turn down the offer of a new deal.
Ajax will now sell Idumbo Muzambo in January in the hope of receiving a decent deal before he leaves at the end of his contract.
Idumbo Muzambo now has a tough decision on whether to pick Sevilla or Tottenham.
The former Gent talent is a tricky winger or attacking midfielder and may see a pathway to playing in Ange Postecoglou’s attack-minded side.
Sevilla are enduring a difficult season, sitting 15th in La Liga and crashing out of Europe amid chopping and changing in the dugout.
Tottenham will hope to use that to their advantage and beat them to Idumbo Muzambo with the January transfer window just days away.
