Postecoglou plans for this week at Tottenham has revealed

Ange Postecoglou‘s men were set to face Chelsea on Friday 23rd February, but that fixture was postponed when Mauricio Pochettino led his side to the Carabao Cup final. Chelsea will now play Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday, looking to win their first trophy under the former Spurs boss. The game between the two London rivals is yet to be rearranged, with Spurs facing a nightmare scenario where the game lands among the run of Premier League fixtures in April and May, during which time the Lilywhites are already due to play Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool consecutively.

While other Premier League teams will be lining up for their standard fixtures this weekend, Spurs have a break that, in truth, they didn’t really want. Postecoglou himself insisted he would rather be playing than having the week off .

While there had been talk of the club arranging a friendly to stay sharp this weekend, Postecoglou revealed last week that he wouldn’t go down that route as a friendly wouldn’t offer the right “intensity” for his team. Instead, an “internal game” will be played.

As per Football.London, Postecoglou will divide his players up for an inter-squad friendly played at Hotspur Way this weekend. The game will be treated as a “proper match” and will give Postecoglou the chance to see all his players in action.
