Why Lakers Still Have A Chance To Go Far

Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers surprised a lot of people by winning in the Play-In Tournament, surging through the playoffs, and going all the way to the Western Conference Finals.

According to David Jacoby, the Lakers still have the ability to go far in the next few months.

Speaking on “The Carton Show,” Jacoby said, “When you have LeBron and AD, you have a chance.”

After getting ridiculed by the co-hosts on the show, Jacoby stood by his claim and made it clear that he truly believes LA will go to the Western Conference Finals again.

While it is possible, it certainly isn’t going to be easy.

The Lakers are currently the ninth seed in the West with a 44-33 record.

They have been plagued by a tough conference, bad injuries, and some poor choices all season long.

But just like last year, they have gotten better in the last stretch of the season and are looking more prepared for the playoffs.

And, just like last year, the team is being led by the incredible duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Because of this, Jacoby thinks they have a shot at going far in the playoffs.

The experience and talent of James and Davis, along with a slew of great supporting players, could be enough to lead the way.

With that being said, the conference is much more difficult than it was last year.

The Lakers will first have to fight out of the Play-In and will only earn the eighth seed.

They’d then have to take on the top team in the West, which could be the Denver Nuggets, a team that has repeatedly beaten them.

It isn’t impossible for the Lakers to once again surprise and over-perform in the weeks ahead, but it’ll be even more challenging than it was last year.
