West Ham Official jets out as transfer news drop today

West Ham have joined Arsenal and Chelsea among other clubs in the race to sign Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode, and have sent officials to watch him in recent weeks, according to HITC.

The sports news outlet reported on 28 February that, despite having only recently signed a long-term contract with the Italian side, Kayode’s performances have scouts flocking to watch him.

Alongside the three London clubs, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Juventus have all shown an interest in signing the breakout talent.

The 19-year-old left-back has attracted many admirers across Europe, so if the Hammers want to get this deal done, they would have to provide a very good deal.

With the uncertainty surrounding West Ham as things stand, and the futures of both David Moyes and Tim Steidten still up in the air, it may be a hard sell to convince Kayode to commit his long-term future to the London Stadium.

However, given the type of player he is, this one seems like a Steidten transfer. A young talent thriving in a European league brings shades of the Mohammed Kudus deal which has proved such a success in East London.

The Hammers were also linked with another Serie A star in the shape of Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove, as the club’s recruitment team has clearly set its sights on Italy.

With competition fierce in the race to sign Kayode after his 17 Serie A performances so far this season, the club will be hopeful of landing a deal for such a highly-rated prospect.
