Burnley centre-back Jordan Beyer is thought to be firmly on the West Ham United radar ahead of the January transfer window.
The Hammers manager signed Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, in an effort to bolster his backline, but it’s clear to see that he needs further reinforcements.
Moyes is clearly unhappy with the level of the defending on display at the London Stadium – he said as much in his post-match press conference yesterday.
Kurt Zouma continues to be injury prone, whilst Nayef Aguerd has endured numerous shaky moments at the heart of West Ham’s defence.
In 10 Premier League outings so far this term, the former Borussia Monchengladbach man has averaged 2.5 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 4.2 clearances per game. During those 10 appearances, he has made 63.9 passes per match on average and has recorded a really impressive completion rate of 91.5% (Who Scored).
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Beyer is physically robust, and seems to be ideally suited to the intense nature of Premier League football.
The 23-year-old has been super impressive for Burnley this season, so Vincent Kompany certainly won’t want to lose him in the January transfer window.
And it will be interesting to see whether West Ham manage to prise Jordan Beyer away from Turf Moor this winter. If we are successful in that, then I think we’ll have a very good young player on our hands.
