West Ham are still advancing with contract talks over a new deal for David Moyes, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
The journalist reported via his Patreon on Sunday (18 February) that the talks come despite the recent 6-0 thrashing by Arsenal.
Nixon added that Moyes is well down the line with agreeing an extension, with the Arsenal defeat viewed as a “one-off.”
Moyes has had quite the roller-coaster ride at the London Stadium, with the manager enduring many ups and downs during his time at the club.
The highest point was, of course, the unforgettable Europa Conference League success last season, with the Scot certain to go down in Hammers history for that feat.
He has also guided the club into the knockout stages of the Europa League this time around, as well as enjoying relative success in the Premier League, with the Hammers sitting eighth in the table.
But many fans have complained about the style of play the manager has adopted, with frustrations particularly evident during the recent clash against the Gunners as thousands of home supporters left the London Stadium at half-time.
That humiliation was not a good look for Moyes, with his club following that loss up with another defeat, this time losing 2-0 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday (18 February).
A red card for recent recruit Kalvin Phillips did not help their cause at the City Ground, with the Hammers now still without a win in all competitions in 2024.
