Jamie Walker admits the Bantams have not hit the standards they set themselves, but hopes to address that ahead of an Easter Weekend double header of fixtures.
The Bantams take on Tranmere Rovers at the University of Bradford Stadium on Friday, before travelling to Grimsby Town on Monday, looking to end a run of four-straight defeats.
Having recently returned from an injury sustained before Christmas, the Scot hopes to get back into a real rhythm and help the team heading into their final seven games of the season.
“It has been a tough few weeks, we have been nowhere near good enough,” Walker said.
“We have not hit the standards that we want to reach. It has been disappointing over the last few weeks.
“The Accrington Stanley game was a good one for me to come back into. We were winning and in control. That was a good chance to come on and get some minutes.
“Being injured is tough mentally, as well as physically. Similar to my injury last year, it took me time to get going again, and it is along the same lines now.
“We have to continue to keep going, we have to keep our heads up. We have to restore some personal pride coming into the end of the season, and I want to contribute to that.”
City’s No.7 understands the frustration within the fanbase following recent results, but hopes supporters will stick with the players as they aim to turn their form.
The 30-year old knows the Bantams have a good opportunity to bounce back in the two games over the Easter Weekend, and is hoping to help lift the mood with positive results.
“The team, we all understand the fans’ frustration,” he added.
“The last few results have been unacceptable, and nowhere near good enough.
“But the fans have shown how much they help us, how much they drive us on in games. They have shown that this season.
“They are a real positive for us. Hopefully, they can continue to do that and stick with us.
“Football changes quickly. We have seen that this season with the form we have shown.
“We have two games coming up, and if we can get positive results from those games, then we can lift the mood again.
“We have worked hard this week in training, and hopefully we can accomplish what we want to over the Easter Weekend.”
