After taking a significant blow from Sam Bennett in Game 3, star winger Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins will be sidelined for Game 4 of their playoff series against the Florida Panthers on Sunday night.
The play infuriated the Bruins, who believed Bennett had given Marchand a sucker punch. The issue was that it was nearly hard to discern what they were upset about due to the broadcast camera angles.
However, TNT aired a reverse perspective of the play prior to Sunday’s Game 4 so you could see what infuriated the Bruins.
Look at this:
Bennett seemed to hit Marchand in the head with the butt end of his stick in addition to slipping in a sneaky punch.
Bennett was not punished for the action, despite a history of questionable plays that have resulted in sanctions from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.
With a 2-1 series advantage, the Panthers enter the game on Sunday. Marchand is one of the Bruins’ best all-around players and one of their best offensive players, thus his absence will be felt greatly.
