VIDEO:Rangers complete loan swoop for £35m Wolves ace Silva

The Wolves forward, 21, has agreed a temporary move to Ibrox until the end of the season. He will officially join the club on Monday, January 1, so will be eligible to line-up against Kilmarnock the following day.

Silva – who joined Wolves from Porto for £35m in 2020 – previously spent time on loan at Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven.

The attacker is most comfortable as a centre-forward but has experience playing as a second striker or off the left-hand side.

The player said: “I am very happy, when I spoke to people about Glasgow and about Rangers, everyone told me good things about the club and the history.

“I played here once with Porto in the Europa League, so I already know the warm club, the environment and the stadium, so everything is perfect.

“I am very happy to be here, and I can’t wait to start training with the team.”

Silva heads to Ibrox for game time after seeing his minutes dwindle in recent months under Gary O’Neill at Molineux.

The forward has made ten appearances for Wolves this season but has been sent to Ibrox for further exposure to first-team football.

It’s thought both Philippe Clement and director Nils Koppen were key in the completion of the loan switch for the Portugal under-21 international.

Koppen was previously at PSV Eindhoven when Silva joined the Eredivisie club on loan last season.
