West Brom injury update as Carlos Corberan discusses where a host of players are at with their fitness levels
Carlos Corberan has revealed that Grady Diangana and Paddy McNair have begun their own version of pre-season for West Bromwich Albion having been denied a summer of preparation because of various fitness issues.
Albion’s new season begins with the trip to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and Albion are by no means the finished article with still three weeks remaining of the transfer window. In a summer up to now which has seen a flurry of departures, Albion have made seven signings but remain short of where they’d like to be heading into the bulk of the Championship campaign.
Corberan’s plans for the commencing of the new term haven’t been helped by the fact that Diangana and captain Jed Wallace have picked up injuries which’ll mean the beginning of their respective campaigns are delayed. McNair, too, who has joined until January on loan, is a little way off having picked up a knee complaint shortly after joining. Diangana and McNair will train together, while Wallace is at least a fortnight away.
