Phil Parkinson reveals injury timeframe for Wrexham star Paul Mullin after surgery

The Red Dragons secured promotion from League Two in the 2023/24 season, earning a second-place finish.

A key figure in their promotion triumph was Paul Mullin, who moved to the Racecourse Ground in 2021 from Cambridge United.

Mullin was one of Wrexham’s standout stars last time out, scoring 24 goals and providing six assists in the league – only Macaulay Langstaff of Notts County (28) found the net on more occasions.

However, Phil Parkinson’s side are set to go into the upcoming campaign without the services of the 29-year-old.

Several Wrexham stars could step up in Mullin’s absence, while the Welsh outfit have also been looking at new centre-forwards in the summer transfer market.

Wrexham are the front-runners for Sheffield Wednesday’s Bailey Cadamarteri with a potential loan switch on the cards.

Parkinson also launched an enquiry for Will Lankshear after Tottenham Hotspur made the striker available for loan last month.

Regardless of whether or not Wrexham signs another striker this summer, they will no doubt be keen to have Mullin back as quickly as possible.

The Welsh side kick off their 2024/25 League One season on Saturday, August 10th, against Wycombe Wanders.

Mullin has undergone surgery this summer and will miss that meeting next weekend.
