Trevoh Chalobah twist emerges at West Ham United

Trevoh Chalobah wants to leave Chelsea on loan during the January transfer window and West Ham United remain interested in signing him, according to The Mirror.

The newspaper reported on its website on Wednesday (31 January) that the Blues defender is hoping to be granted a late loan move in a new twist at Stamford Bridge, with David Moyes’ side one of a number of potential suitors.

Italian giants AC Milan have already made an enquiry, while Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Fulham join the Irons in holding an interest from within the Premier League in the versatile defender.

So far this month, Chelsea’s demands have prevented a move as all parties would prefer a permanent transfer, but with the transfer deadline closing in, a deadline-busting loan switch may be the only available option.

West Ham could do with one or two defensive reinforcements for the remainder of the season and the temporary signing of Chaolobah would be the ideal solution to the Hammers’ problems this month.

While Konstantinos Mavropanos, Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd have impressed at times this season, Moyes has very little depth to fall upon and with the European calendar back on the horizon, a new addition may well be a necessity.

The Hammers should have no issue beating all of the other teams linked with Chalobah’s signature to his signing as not only will the Chelsea loanee be guaranteed regular football, but he will also be able to feature in Europe, something neither Palace of Forest can offer.

West Ham should do all that they can to get this deal over the line, especially as there could be a permanent deal to be struck come the end of the season if all goes well.
