There was a new addition to the injury report for the Hawks ahead of their road game tomorrow vs Philadelphia. Trae Young (illness) was added to the injury report today and is questionable. Rookies Kobe Bufkin and Mouhamed Gueye are still on the injury report alongside Jalen Johnson, but Young was added today and we will wait and see if Young is able to play tomorrow.
If Young is not able to play tomorrow, I would bet that Bogdan Bogdanovic would start in his place.
Young is having a terrific season, despite the Hawks’s 9-11 record. Young is averaging 27.6 PPG and 10.6 APG this season.
Last night was a thrilling game between the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets, with Brooklyn finding a way to come out on top. After a big three from Trae Young, Nets forward Mikal Bridges hit a shot with 4.5 seconds left. The Hawks would have one more shot to try and win the game and inbounded the ball to Young, who drove to the basket and appeared to be fouled. The officials did not call anything though and the Nets won 114-113. Young was upset about the no call and Snyder said after the game he thought that is should have been a foul:
“We got the ball in the player’s hands that we wanted it in and you can debate about the last possession, it looked to me like he got pushed.”
However, the NBA does not agree with Snyder, and in the last two-minute report that was released today, here is what the NBA had to say:
“Smith Jr. (BKN) does not impede Young’s progress with his left hand before Young wipes his hand back. Smith Jr. then legally places a forearm to Young’s side and releases him without extending or pushing him.”
The Hawks could use a win tomorrow vs Philadelphia, but if Young does not play, that is going to be a tall task. Keep an eye on the injury report tomorrow to see if Young can play.
