Trae Young Drops Beautiful Retirement Message for Blake Griffin

Blake Griffin recently ended his run in the NBA after playing 13 seasons. Among the many personalities who have sent out their retirement messages for the All-Star forward is Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young.

Before Griffin entered the league, the 6’9″ forward dominated in college for Oklahoma. During his two-year stint there, the high-flying star won National College Player of the Year, Big 12 Player of the Year, and NCAA Rebounding title, among others.

After a stellar college basketball run, Griffin entered the NBA and was selected first by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2009. Unfortunately, he injured his knee during a preseason game, causing the rookie to miss his first year in the league.

The following year, though, Griffin made his debut for the Clippers and never looked back since. During his rookie campaign, he posted 22.5 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. He would also win Rookie of the Year in 2011 and make the All-Star Game that season.

Thanks to his insane athleticism and natural knack for getting buckets, Griffin was able to make five All-NBA teams, six All-Star Games, and appear in multiple playoffs with the Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics.

Blake Griffin Receives Heartfelt Retirement Message from Atlanta Hawks Star Trae Young
Just recently, Griffin announced his retirement from the league. Among the stars who have congratulated the All-Star forward is Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young in a post he shared on his official X account:

Griffin has ended his stellar run as a pro with averages of 18.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He last played for the Celtics during the 2022-23 season with 41 games under his belt for the franchise. Also, both Young and Griffin played for Oklahoma in college, creating a bond between the two stars.

While Griffin has ended his career in the NBA, Young is currently fighting with the Hawks to get out of the Play-In Tournament. It remains to be seen whether they can secure a playoff spot or their season will come to an end soon.
