Stoke City man hoping to return for Middlesbrough game after illness

Stoke City are hoping he is back available for their upcoming Championship clash this weekend. They head to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough.

Moran, 20, couldn’t make the Potters’ squad for their first match under new boss Narcis Pelach last Friday as he was ill. They ended up losing 3-1 to Hull City at the Bet365 Stadium, despite leading 1-0 at half-time after defender Ben Wilmot’s header.

In this latest update, StokeOnTrentLive report he will come back into the ‘equation’ this week as the Staffordshire outfit prepare for their upcoming fixtures. As well as Boro, they have games coming up before the next international break against Portsmouth and Swansea City as they look to hit some form.

He was signed last month on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion to boost their midfield options and has since played six games.

The youngster, who is a Republic of Ireland international with one cap under his belt, started his career with spells at Knocklyon United, St Joseph’s Boys and Bray Wanderers before moving over to England in 2020.

He was subsequently snapped him by Brighton and has been with the Premier League outfit for the last four years.

Moran has played three times for their first-team in competitive fixtures and is under contract at the AMEX Stadium until June 2027.
