Ross McCausland announcement made by Rangers today

Rangers prospect Ross McCausland has been voted Player of the Month for November following a breakthrough month, with an announcement confirming the news.

The 20-year-old has experienced an extremely successful month of November, accomplishing much with club and country since breaking through into the first team under Steven Davis.

McCausland took the majority of the votes due to his performances for the Gers, most recently helping Philippe Clement’s men to lift the Viaplay League Cup trophy.

Rangers took to Twitter to reveal their November Player of the Month.

A well-earned award

Since breaking through to the senior team, McCausland has racked up 17 appearances this season, making eight starts. His development under Clement has only improved, being integrated into the squad.

The winger has scored twice, once in the Europa League against Aris Limassol and another in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Alloa Athletic. He has shot to stardom, keeping some of his senior teammates out of the starting XI.

His performances have not gone unnoticed. Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill has also noticed, awarding the youngster his first international cap, starting against Finland in a EURO Qualification match. Despite a 4-0 loss, he was handed the Man of the Match award.

The youngster also committed his future to the club, penning a new deal which will see him stay at Ibrox until the summer of 2027. The sky is the limit for McCausland and this will only be the first Player of the Month award in a very long future at Rangers.

With the number of injuries currently affecting the Rangers squad, McCausland could be given a long run of games in the side which will only help him develop further and become a key member of the starting XI under Clement.
