Ravens Make Decision on Emerging Pass-Rusher

The Baltimore Ravens have ensured that edge rusher Odafe Oweh isn’t going anywhere.

Tuesday, the Ravens exercised Oweh’s fifth-year option, keeping the emerging edge rusher under contract through the 2025 campaign, ahead of the NFL’s May 2 deadline.

Oweh has developed into a core player along the Ravens‘ front seven.

“We are happy to announce that the Ravens will be picking up Odafe Oweh’s fifth-year option,” Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta announced. “We look forward to watching him play great football for us this year.”

Oweh is now set to count $13.251 million against the cap in 2025, barring the two sides reaching an agreement on a long-term contract extension before then to lower his cap number.

A dominant presence off the edge, Oweh is coming off a stellar 2023 campaign, matching a career-high five sacks with 23 total tackles.

Next season, Oweh should see an expanded role for a new-look Baltimore defense and could open the regular season as a Week 1 starter.

Chosen by the Ravens with the No. 31 overall pick, out of Penn State, in the 2021 NFL Draft, Oweh has logged 13 sacks and 99 total tackles through the first three seasons of his career.
