On a recent episode of Ticket and The Truth, Paul Pierce gave his thoughts on the Denver Nuggets. Last season, Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets to their first NBA championship.
As captured by SHOWTIME Basketball, the former Boston Celtics forward doesn’t believe that Denver has the most dominant team in the NBA. “I don’t think they’re a dominant team.
They got a dominant player, and some great pieces, but I still think there’s a couple of other teams that just get them.”
With a 14-6 record, the Nuggets hold the second seed in the Western Conference. They took losses from the Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Kevin Garnett opposed Pierce’s statement, citing DeAndre Jordan’s 21 point, 13 rebound performance against the Los Angeles Clippers.
“They just beat the breaks off of the [Los Angeles] Clippers team. That was (a) full-man team. (The Nuggets) had three of their stars out. Joker, Jamal, and Gordon sit down… DeAndre Jordan got a damn-near double-double.”
