Oliver Glasner already implementing big changes at Crystal Palace

Oliver Glasner is only on his third day being Crystal Palace manager and already he is implementing huge changes.

Crystal Palace announced on Monday that Roy Hodgson had stepped down as the manager after what was a long weekend concern over his health.

With his departure, however, Crystal Palace were prepared as Oliver Glasner was confirmed as the new manager almost immediately.

The Austrian was then in attendance to watch as his new side drew 1-1 with Everton on Monday night before he finally took over on Tuesday.

Now just a day later, he’s already making substantial changes at Copers Cope, ahead of this Saturday’s visit of Burnley to Selhurst Park.

So now Glasner has officially started and he’s already been making some seriously impressive changes according to The Athletic.

The changes are occurring within his coaching staff at Palace with Paddy McCarthy set to remain at the club, Glasner has however seen Ray Lewington depart the club.

McCarthy therefore will be forming Glasner’s new backroom staff set-up which includes former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz who played for Glasner at LASK.

Dean Kielty will also remain at the club as a goalkeeping coach offering some stability in a time of change at Palace.

While having a managerial change is what many were crying out for, really it needed more than that and replacing the vast majority of the coaching staff who’ve overseen Hodgson’s era.

Also hopefully it’ll mean fewer injuries, with training sessions being blamed for the sheer amount of injuries Palace have had this campaign.
