Nottingham ‘willing’ to cancel loan transfer ahead of £4m move

The Belgian arrived at the club from Italian Serie A giants AC Milan on the final day of the summer transfer window, initially on loan but also reportedly with an option to buy. However, the former Liverpool forward has made just nine Premier League appearances and only two starts in Garibaldi Red.

Recent reports have claimed that Origi is attracting interest stateside with Los Angeles FC, FC Dallas and Cincinnati all said to be interested. Forest need to move players out before they can add in this transfer window with Origi a player who could potentially leave.

Now Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has claimed that Forest could end Origi’s loan spell at the City Ground so he can leave for LA. He adds that reports from Italy claim the 28-year-old will join the American club on loan with an obligation to buy for £4.25million.

“#nffc willing to cut short Divock Origi’s loan from #Milan so that the striker can join Los Angeles FC for the remainder of the season,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter. ” Sky in Italy reporting that Origi’s loan deal with LA includes an obligation to buy him for £4.25m – if, as expected, Forest allow him to leave.”

Origi has won all three domestic trophies in England and the Champions League. His time at Anfield saw him carve out a niche as an effective substitute, having scored several winning goals off the bench for Liverpool.
