Nottingham want to sign ‘frightening’ attacker who blew Gary Neville away at the World Cup

Well, it would appear as though more links to wingers are now coming to light ahead of the transfer deadline.

According to Foot Mercato, Forest are rivalling Villarreal for the signing of Sarr and have enquired about the player.

Sarr has played 21 times for Marseille during the 2023/24 campaign, scoring four goals and claiming two assists.

The 25-year-old only signed for the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer but now Marseille are already fielding questions about his future.

Sarr is currently at the African Cup of Nations with Senegal and he will come up against three Forest players when he takes on Ivory Coast tonight.

Who is Ismaila Sarr?

The talented player made a name for himself in England with Watford and at one point he was linked with some top clubs.

In 131 appearances for the Hornets, he scored 34 goals and claimed 24 assists after signing from Rennes.

Sarr is a tricky winger with a very good burst of pace and during his time at Watford, Rob Edwards called him ‘amazing’.

Who Scored details finishing as his main attribute and also claims he likes to dribble, gets fouled a lot and loves to cut inside when taking players on.

Sarr blew Gary Neville away at the 2022 World Cup following an impressive performance against Holland where the winger was called ‘frightening’ by the pundit.

Rumour rating: 8/10 – There is an awful lot to like about this deal and Sarr would be an exciting one for Forest.

Given that Marseille signed him as recently as the summer, perhaps this won’t be an easy deal to complete.

However, even if Forest could take him on loan it would certainly be an attractive signing to finish the transfer window with.
