The New York Giants have been involved in plenty of reports during April. Holding a top ten pick in the NFL Draft will do that to an organization.
Adam Schefter updated the Giants’ plan of attack for round one while on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday.
The Giants are one of the teams with the most interest in trading up.
The Giants hold the sixth overall pick. In order to secure a quarterback, New York may have to move into the top four picks. It’s worth noting that the Giants pick earliest of any of the teams mentioned in trying to move up.
They have competition in the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, among others.
New York could also decide to attack the QB position in round two with Michael Penix Jr. or Bo Nix if they fall that far. This trade talk from Schefter does double back on a Giants thought from him last week, though.
“I’m going to take them at their word. They seem to have implied they have other needs at other positions. I think they are going to take a QB relatively high, but up high, they seem to point to other areas before QB.”
— Schefter on April 16th
Accordingly, the smoke show continues. New York may want one of the top four QBs all expected to go in the first half of the first round, but we will not truly know until draft night.
