NBA Admits Missed Call in Warriors vs. Spurs Game

After leading by as much as 18, the Golden State Warriors managed to hold off the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, winning 118–112 in the end. Although Golden State’s victory wasn’t the most convincing, they will still accept it because in the closing minutes, it looked like it would slip away from them.

One missed call that may have significantly changed the outcome of the game if the Spurs had scored on it has been included in the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report for this match. The NBA has since concluded that Warriors player Gary Payton II dribbled the ball off Cedi Osman’s foot, which should have preserved possession with Golden State, after he lost it out of bounds with less than a minute remaining in the game.

Even though the Spurs were erroneously awarded possession and did not score, the missed call was significant at the moment. Ultimately, however, it had little bearing. When Payton lost the ball out of bounds, the game was just four points, therefore San Antonio’s score would have reduced it to a one-possession match.

The Warriors needed every victory they could get right now, but they had no intention of playing the Spurs to the wire, especially after leading by as much as 18.
