It would be an insult to Jrue Holiday’s postseason contributions to suggest he is the Boston Celtics’ star player right now.

 

He has been the driving force behind the C’s successful postseason run, and his contributions have been evident at every turn. Even past players are praising his all-around play for Boston because of his recent amazing basketball performances.

Holiday contributed significantly to the Celtics lineup with yet another strong all-around play as he concluded Game 3. Nobody can question his importance to the C’s when Game 4 takes place later today.

However, one of the team’s stars revealed that Jrue was fighting with the team under a specific set of circumstances that makes his game all the more impressive.

Jayson Tatum reveals Jrue Holiday was sick during Boston Celtics’ Game 3 win vs Pacers

Sports Illustrated’s Tim Capurso wrote about Tatum’s take on Holiday’s performance. He revealed that the one-time NBA champion wasn’t feeling his best when he put up a solid effort for the C’s in Game 3:

“Man, I’m glad we got him,” Tatum said. “Jrue’s a hell of a competitor. Obviously, he’s won a championship. He was feeling sick this morning, he wasn’t even able to come to shootaround, so for him to come out here and put it all on the line for us and come up with a big play to win the game… we’ve got a hell of a team.”

Jrue Holiday product put up a solid stat line for the Celtics in Game 3, with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block to his name. It was an incredible effort that showcased just how important of a role the UCLA product has occupied in the Celtics’ roster throughout the season.

The Celtics will continue to rely on him as the playoffs approach the crescendo that is the NBA Finals. Fans will be hopeful that he continues being the X Factor for the Celtics for Game 4 and beyond.
