The Detroit Lions have opened as four-point betting favorites against the Chicago Bears.
Detroit was able to defeat their NFC North division rival 31-26 at Ford Field two weeks ago.
After defeating the New Orleans Saints, the Lions are seeking their 10th victory of the 2023 season.
Chicago will be coming off of their bye week, but are seeking to build off of coach Matt Eberflus’ first victory against an NFC North opponent.
The last occasion the Bears took the field was a narrow 12-10 victory against the Minnesota Vikings.
After not playing their best brand of football last week, Detroit was able to rebound following a loss to the Packers to defeat the Saints on the road.
Quarterback Jared Goff expressed the coaching staff was able to emphasize areas of improvement, which allowed the team to perform at a higher level, especially to start the game against the Saints.
“Dan talks about it all the time, within our building, we know what’s right and what’s wrong, what we need to get better at, what didn’t work,” Goff said. “We don’t ride the rollercoaster, it’s one game after another. It’s a testament to him and our team being able to understand when losses happen, what are the points to improve on and emphasize them. Typically, you get a better result the next time.”
In their first meeting, Detroit’s veteran signal-caller was booed by fans due to his shaky play.
Eventually, the 29-year-old tossed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams with 3:06 remaining and had a stellar final drive to lift Detroit to the comeback win.
