Lillard Reacts to Knicks Star Brunson’s 38-Point Explosion.

Damian Lillard did all he could for the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks. It just wasn’t enough, though, as Jalen Brunson exploded for 38 points to carry his team to a 129-122 victory at the Madison Square Garden.

Jalen Brunson Dominates Milwaukee Bucks

Brunson had no intention of letting his team suffer two losses in the span of three days against the Bucks, and so he took it upon himself to make sure that this wasn’t going to be the case. The Knicks star went 15-of-28 from the field for a game-high 38 points, with four rebounds, six assists, one trey, a steal, and zero turnovers in a very impressive 37 minutes of action.

After the game, Lillard conceded that Brunson gave them all sorts of problems during the game:

“A lot of times in our coverages, [Brunson has] been able to get to his spots, but we’ve been able to overall control the game regardless,” Lillard said, via Jamal Collier of ESPN. “But sometimes when a guy gets rolling and they get comfortable and they start feeling good, when it becomes a tight game, it can be a problem.”

Brunson was indeed an issue for the Bucks in this one as Lillard and Co. pretty much had no answer for him throughout the contest.

Lillard wasn’t bad himself, logging 32 points on 10-of-21 from the floor, along with one rebound, eight assists, a steal, and four triples. Despite his effort, however, it was Brunson who outdueled Dame on Christmas Day.
