Aston Villa ‘monitor’ Leeds United ace
Aston Villa are tracking Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville ahead of the January transfer window, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Summerville has been a revelation for the Whites this season, playing an instrumental role in their promotion push.
The wide man has notched 11 goals and registered six assists as United look to maintain their top-two push. His impressive form has not gone unnoticed, with high-flying Villa reportedly keeping close tabs on Summerville.
Romano claims Premier League side Villa are among “several clubs” closely monitoring Summerville’s situation. He adds that the Whites have got no intention of selling the Dutchman next month as they seek to secure promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Summerville was heavily linked with a move to Burnley in the summer transfer window. It has been suggested the Clarets had a £20m offer snubbed for him. Everton and Crystal Palace were also said to be big admirers of Summerville.
United youngster Finley Gorman is closing in on a £1.2m move to Premier League giants Manchester City. A report in Football Insider says the 15-year-old will head to the Etihad following protracted talks with the Whites.
Gorman, regarded as one of United’s brightest prospects, has reportedly passed a medical and the deal is expected to be confirmed in the New Year. An attacking midfielder, Gorman made his England Under-16s debut earlier this season.
The Whites starlet, the youngest player to score twice in a Premier League U18s fixture, is still on schoolboy terms with United. He is not eligible for a first professional contract until he turns 17 in September 2025.
