Latest: Coventry City’s Star Returns, BTA Debuts….

Key Coventry City man back from injury as BTA set for debut against Werder Bremen

Coventry City welcome back Haji Wright from injury on a day when latest signing Brandon Thomas-Asante is in line to make his debut against German side Werder Bremen.

The USA international has recovered from an ankle injury to take his place on the bench where new striker Thomas-Asante is also named for the Sky Blues’ final public pre-season friendly of the warm-up schedule.

Oliver Dovin once again starts in goal for Mark Robins who starts Joel Latibeaudiere at right-back in place of Milan van Ewijk, who is rested on the bench, while Jake Bidwell continues at left-back ahead of Jay Dasilva. Bobby Thomas and Luis Binks are again City’s first choice central defensive partnership on a day when Liam Kitching is among the substitutes.

Victor Torp and Jamie Allen look like they are going to be deployed in the holding roles in midfield with Jack Rudoni further forward in the number ten position, with Tatsuhiro Sakamoto wide on the right and Kasey Palmer on the left in place of Ephron Mason-Clark, who is on the bench. That leaves Ellis Simms to lead the line.

City starting XI: Oliver Dovin; Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Thomas, Luis Binks, Jake Bidwell; Victor Torp, Jamie Allen; Jack Rudoni; Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Ellis Simms, Kasey Palmer.

Subs: Brad Collin (GK), Jay Dasilva, Liam Kitching, Josh Eccles, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Milan van Ewijk, Ephron Mason-Clark, Haji Wright, Ryan Howley.
