Lakers: Ham Has Weird Perspective On Garbage Minutes After 76ers Loss

On Monday night, your Los Angeles Lakers dropped the second game of their road to the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 138-94.

It was an ugly performance for the Lakers and a game where they could just flush the tape away. Within the first eight minutes of the game, it was already a problem for the team.

They found themselves down 20-plus but did manage to cut the lead to just 15 at halftime. But in the second half, things got even worse. And by the end of the game, it was one of the worst losses the Lakers have been in years. The entire fourth quarter was the team waving the white flag, and LA only scored 14 points total in it.

Multiple young members of the Lakers got a chance to play in garbage time, but it didn’t really show much. Head coach Darvin Ham gave an interesting response to garbage time minutes being played after the game was already out of hand. The start of this season has been very interesting for LA. They have looked the part of a title contender in different moments, but have also looked like a sloppy mess as well.

There has been no consistency from the Lakers this year, and it’s becoming a real problem. This team doesn’t have an identity and they need on badly. Going forward, they will need to find a way to put more consistent efforts out on the floor.

They are dealing with multiple injuries to key players, which does play into everything, but it’s the next-man-up mentality. They don’t have the luxury to sit around if they want to stay afloat in the Western Conference standings. The best thing they can do is move on from this performance and get ready for their next contest.
