“KD Should Leave SUNS” Former NBA Player Suggests

The Phoenix Suns are currently facing a difficult season, one that is highly regarded given the challenges and status of this star-studded team in 2023-2024.

The “game or play” chant was widely embraced ahead of training camp with Suns stars Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.

Phoenix hasn”t seemed to find its footing in a long time, riding a seven-game winning streak and finishing with an 11-6 record despite being plagued by injuries.

Former NBA player Brandon Jennings says Durant should leave. After losing to the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, the Suns have won just three of their last 12 games as they continue to slip down the Western Conference standings.

Three great Phoenix teams, Bill-Booker-Durant, played against each other in the same game. The players didn”t get what Day wanted (most of the time), and Coach Frank Vogel was furious.

We”ll see if anything can be done to strengthen the Suns before the trade deadline, although it”s unlikely the Suns can handle Durant on their own.

The Phoenix Suns look to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference with three new players: Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

The Suns fell to 14-15 this season after Luka Doncic scored 50 points in a Christmas Day loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Former NBA player Brandon Jennings, who averaged 55 points per game, shared his thoughts on the Suns and said Durant should leave the team.

“You talk to Phoenix and people around the organization, they might be upset with Durant. Part of it is [Bradley] Beal missing games. This team is built around three stars (Durant, Established by Bill and Devin. Booker). That”s what they should be looking for in Phoenix and Kevin Durant.”

Considering Kevin Durant is building and still competing at an all-league level, it”s a good reminder of how close this window is and how this team needs to win big and needs to win quickly. Despite their offensive prowess, the Suns” defense is a big problem.

Now the opposition parties are using these issues. With that in mind, former NBA point guard Brandon Jennings took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his belief that Kevin Durant should leave the Suns. Durant joined the Suns at the trade deadline in 2023.

This summer, the front office doubled down to provide a roster spot for a power forward and acquired Bradley Beal via trade. However, Beal has struggled with injuries to start the season. Without Beal on the court, the Suns are a little worse than last season.

Their looks were designed to keep Beal, Durant and Devin Booker together on the court. With so much left to do this season, Durant will wait for Beal to return in hopes that things will improve if the third player on the roster continues to get time on the court.

Durant has been with the Suns for less than a year. They played a big role in giving him a roster that could compete for a championship. As difficult as the list may seem, it is unlikely to jump quickly. All teams will fail.

Durant has a knack for understanding the ebbs and flows of the season. So Jennings” desire to pry Durant away from the Suns may not come true any time soon. However, if the decline continues throughout the season, conditions may change in the summer.
