JUST NOW: Game-time decision made by Brad Marchand of the Bruins for Game 6 against the Panthers

Coach Jim Montgomery said that C captain Brad Marchand, who took part in Boston’s morning practice, will be assessed at-game for Friday night’s Game 6 of the Eastern Conference second-round series against the visiting Florida Panthers.

Marchand did not play in Boston’s 3-2 loss in Game 4 or the 2-1 victory over the Bruins in Game 5. Since suffering an upper-body injury on a heavy check from Florida’s Sam Bennett during the first period of the Panthers’ 6-2 victory in Game 3, the forward has not played.

The Bruins trail 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.

“He’s going through his final steps. He’ll be a game-time decision,” Montgomery said.

Marchand, 36, has three goals and a team-leading seven assists for 10 points in 10 games during the postseason.

Marchand had 67 points (29 goals, 38 assists) in 82 games this season. He has 929 points (401 goals, 528 assists) in 1,029 career games since being selected by the Bruins in the third round of the 2006 NHL Draft.
