Just In: West Ham plotting to submit Youssef En-Nesyri bid

West Ham are plotting another bid to sign Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed manager-elect Julen Lopetegui could return to his former club to do business as he looks to reshape the West Ham squad this summer.

Football Insider revealed on 5 May the Spaniard is likely to be in the London Stadium dugout next season after the Irons have offered him an “enormous” deal to replace David Moyes as their new manager.

The Hammers have made attempts to sign En-Nesyri in previous transfer windows after he’s impressed during his time with the La Liga club.

O’Rourke admitted the “powerful” Moroccan international has all the attributes to be a success in the Premier League if he were to make the move to east London.

The 26-year-old’s contract with the Spanish side is due to expire in June 2025.

Youssef En-Nesyri could join Julen Lopetegui at West Ham
It’s been another excellent season for En-Nesyri after scoring 19 goals and laying on three assists in 38 appearances.

The Moroccan has registered eight of those strikes in his past nine games despite Sevilla enduring a difficult campaign in La Liga.

O’Rourke admitted En-Nesyri could be the “perfect answer” to solve West Ham’s problems in the forward department, but he expects other clubs to also register an interest in signing him this summer.

While Michail Antonio has worked his way back to fitness recently, concerns remain over his injury problems after Jarrod Bowen was forced to play as a lone striker earlier this season in his teammate’s absence.
