Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Receives 99 OVR Rating in Madden 25

Kansas City Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes is once again a member of the Madden 25 99 Club, as developer EA Sports has given him the highest rating in the game.

Mahomes remains the best Quarterback to use in Madden, with extremely high attributes across several categories. Although EA Sports updates player ratings throughout the year, rest assured that Mahomes will be the best QB in the game at launch. Without further ado, let’s dissect the rating like any rationale human being.

Kansas City Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes will have a 99 OVR rating at Madden 25’s launch. This once again puts him as the highest rated QB in the game. The Super Bowl LVIII MVP. Since he first started for the Chiefs in 2018, Mahomes has helped the team appear in four Super Bowls, winning three of them. So there’s really no reason as to why he shouldn’t receive the highest rating the game offers.

Mahomes also joins teammate Travis Kelce once again, who also received a 99 OVR rating. With Kelce set to stay in Arrowhead for a bit longer, and with legendary HC Andy Reid, the Chiefs will likely remain a powerhouse team.

Some might look at the 2023-2024 season and wonder how Mahomes could’ve received the highest rating again. After all, didn’t Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson earn the MVP after an incredible season? And didn’t Mahomes undergo one of the worst seasons of his career yet? One could argue it was the Chiefs’ defense that helped the team win it all last season.

However, Mahomes threw for over 4,000 yards last year, with 27 touchdowns to boot. If that’s considered a “bad year” then I think a lot of players would still want Mahomes on their team. Furthermore, The Chiefs’ signal-caller played well when it mattered. In Super Bowl LVIII, Mahomes earned 399 total yards and scored two touchdowns in the narrow victory against San Francisco. Regular season stats are great, but Super Bowl wins matter most in this league.
