Joachim Andersen says entire team could copy Mateta….

Joachim Andersen shared what Palace team could do if Jean-Philippe Mateta scores again on Saturday vs Wolves.

The Frenchman has now scored nine goals in 11 Premier League appearances since Oliver Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson, in what has been a remarkable run of form.

No player in Crystal Palace history had scored in six successive Premier League games at Selhurst Park before Jean-Philippe Mateta bagged against Manchester United on Monday, and Joachim Andersen has now shared what could happen if the man from Sevran nets again on Saturday…

Speaking at the club’s end of season awards evening on Tuesday, the Denmark international suggested that every Crystal Palace player could copy Mateta and tuck their shirts in against Aston Villa on the final day, if he scores at Molineux on Saturday.

After the idea was suggested to the Denmark international on stage, he said: “Maybe we should do that.”

Only time will tell if it happens – although Mateta has a great chance of scoring once again.

The Crystal Palace No.14 has already scored at Molineux back in the 2021/22 campaign under Patrick Vieira, and with Wolves on a run of just one win in nine games, Gary O’Neil’s side are there for the taking.

Many Crystal Palace fans had become truly apathetic towards the club back in January, with banners regularly being shown in protest towards the directors, while Hodgson’s football was truly a pain to watch.

Andersen himself even clashed with fans after that 5-0 loss to Arsenal in January, and the mood around Selhurst Park was dreadful.
