Ipswich Town also failed to make their possession count at the weekend by drawing 2-2 with bitter rivals Norwich City
Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has slammed Norwich City for celebrating a point while looking ahead to a mammoth clash with Leeds United. The East Anglian derby was reignited after four-and-a-half years at the weekend, with the Canaries earning an unlikely draw.
Ipswich, given their league position and transformation under McKenna, were red-hot favourites but flustered several big opportunities to put the game to bed. A Jonathan Rowe brace threatened to cause an upset but Wes Burns equalised on the hour mark for the Tractor Boys.
Similarly to Leeds, who played Coventry City, the hosts failed to make their dominance count and had to settle for a point at Portman Road. The derby was Ipswich’s final test before travelling to Elland Road this weekend.
