INFORMATION : SoxFest to return in 2025

The White Sox are expected to release some fun news at some point today.According to Ryan McGuffey of NBC Sports Chicago, the White Sox plan to announce the return of SoxFest in 2025. It is unclear where or when this event will be held.

This will be the fourth straight offseason that the White Sox have not held SoxFest. While previous events had been canceled due to the 2020 COVID pandemic, the reasons for more recent cancellations became increasingly vague in recent years, including simply stating “multiple factors.” Earlier this offseason, the White Sox announced they had no plans to bring SoxFest back for 2024:

“No official plans for SoxFest to announce at the moment, but we are working on plans to celebrate fans this winter.”

This “plan” would become a season ticket holder event called “Winter with the White Sox,” which is being held today, January 26, at the Field Museum. So, it makes sense that the team could use this event to announce the return of a larger fan celebration – especially for the 20th anniversary of the 2005 World Series Championship.

McCormick Place served as the host for the once-annual fan convention when it was last held in 2020 after a number of years at the Chicago Hilton. The last gathering saw an increased number of fans as the team’s window of contention opened up, though fans have grown increasingly anxious with the abrupt closing of that window and a shift into a new era of White Sox baseball, led by Chris Getz as the new General Manager.

When the White Sox reveal more information, we will provide further updates.
