The Senior Bowl has come and gone, meaning the 2024 NFL draft is inching ever closer. And will additional data now at their disposal, many league experts, analysts, and insiders have readjusted their early mock draft approach.
For the New York Giants, things remain relatively familiar. Their three most common projected selections are wide receiver, offensive tackle, and quarterback — now in that order.
With most anticipating the top quarterbacks going off the board early, wide receivers have seen a significant boost at No. 6 overall. But which one?
Here’s a round-up of the most recent mock drafts and who they have the Giants selecting.
Cynthia Frelund: WR Rome Odunze

Odunze is my WR2 by the slimmest of margins. In fact, his contested-catch ability, as well as his body control, ranks in the top 20 percentile in a 10-season sample. I also cannot believe my models didn’t choose an O-lineman here either, as it is an area of big need. That should tell you how much my evaluations love Odunze.
CBS Sports: WR Malik Nabers

I don’t know who the Giants QB will be a year or two from now, but whomever it is, they’ll be happy to have Malik Nabers to throw to. Nabers doesn’t have the route tree of Marvin Harrison or Rome Odunze, but he’s lightning-fast, has excellent hands, and is just as effective on the outside as in the slot. He’d be the most dangerous offensive weapon on the Giants the moment he stepped into the building.
The Sporting News: WR Malik Nabers

The Giants need to get a true No. 1 wide receiver to help the quick Wan’Dale Robinson and speedy Jalin Hyatt. New York will love Nabers’ smooth, versatile route-running and big-play pop after the catch.
ESPN: WR Rome Odunze

The run on pass-catchers is here in earnest! The Giants miss out on the top three quarterbacks, but the rumors swirling at the Senior Bowl among agents is that the Giants are more likely to add a veteran free agent QB to compete with Daniel Jones than draft one early. It would allow general manager Joe Schoen to pick up a true WR1 in Odunze, who led the nation in receiving in 2023 (1,640 yards).
At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Odunze is a physical and aggressive player before and after the catch. He’s a dominant option on both back-shoulder fades and breaking routes. No matter who is throwing the ball, Odunze would immediately boost the Giants’ offense.

A dual-threat quarterback is exactly what Brian Daboll loves to work with. Jayden Daniels is an explosive runner and can throw a great deep ball. The Giants have a ton of vertical weapons, so this pick should be exciting and a great pairing for the Giants.
The 33rd Team: WR Rome Odunze

This might feel early for Washington WR Rome Odunze, but I think we need to start getting ready to hear and see Odunze’s name popping up more in top-eight discussions.
Oduzne is a high-IQ player whose toughness, competitiveness and skill set are much needed in New York. Odunze will walk in as one of the New York Giants’ best receivers and should have no issues putting up big production in Year 1.
