How Schumacher views Argyle away game against Coventry

The Pilgrims are 19th in the Championship table, on the same number of points as the Sky Blues but above them on goal difference going into tonight’s fixture.

Plymouth Argyle’s pursuit of their first away Championship win of the season will continue against Coventry City in the west Midlands tonight.

Steven Schumacher’s Pilgrims have clinched all five of their victories this term at Home Park, most recently the 2-0 defeat of Sunderland on Saturday, as they have a record of three draws and five defeats from their eight away games. Argyle and Coventry both have 19 points from 17 games, with the Sky Blues coming off a confidence-boosting 3-0 win away to Millwall on Saturday.

Argyle were also buoyed by their success against Sunderland and Schumacher wants his players to take confidence from that result and produce a strong all-round performance at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Schumacher said: “Our home form is so important to us. We know when we get it right, when we play at the tempo we do, and play with energy then we are a match for anyone, like we have shown. We also feel as though we have played well – really well at times – away from home and we haven’t got the results that we have probably deserved.
