Coventry City boss Mark Robins has admitted his side have to be better if they are to climb up the Championship table despite their 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night.
Haji Wright’s fifth goal of the season was the difference between the two sides at the Coventry Building Society Arena, lifting the Sky Blues to 15th in the table.
“I’m pleased with the win and the three points,” he told reporters. “I thought we were better in first half than the second. We were OK with the ball, we just could have done with more zip.
“We’ve created good chances tonight and been wasteful. Haji had a sighter when he put it over the bar and then the second one he scored. It’s that confidence. We need to do things quicker. We had Franz Beckenbauer in defence tonight at times, when they were dribbling with the ball but losing it.”
“We have to do better and that really has to be the message. We have to be better than we were, certainly on Saturday against Ipswich Town.”
Robins also waded in on the controversial fashion of Wright’s winner. The ball had seemed to go out of play when Milan van Ewijk crossed for the American. However, the Coventry boss was confident in the officials decision.
