Caitlin Clark get the Rookie of the Year award
Yup, Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark was named the AP’s Rookie of the Year. (The WNBA hasn’t officially announced their pick for Rookie of the Year yet, but Athletic journalist Shams Charania reports that she will.)
“This is a tremendous honor to be named the Associated Press Rookie of the Year,” Caitlin told the AP. “This recognition wouldn’t be possible without an incredible group of teammates and coaches, and we are looking forward to continuing an exciting regular season in the postseason.”
Caitlin’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery had a hilarious reaction to the news, sharing the Indiana Fever’s announcement of the honor on his Instagram Story with “Duh” written over top.
Connecticut Sun guard Dijonai Carrington was named the WNBA’s Most Improved Player, the league announced September 25. This year, Dijonai averaged career-highs across the board with 12.7 points, five rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game, making herself stand out as a defensive star, per CBS Sports.
