Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says they will evaluate Bam Adebayo after he receives treatment today in New York
There is no timetable on when the Miami Heat expect center Bam Adebayo back in the lineup.
Coach Erik Spoelstra did offer an update after Adebayo missed Wednesday’s victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of a bruised hip. It was just the second game he missed of the season.
“It’s not a lingering thing, he’s padded,” Spoelstra said. “He just took a hard fall in the Chicago game in the same exact spot that he did earlier in the season when he had to miss a game. He was able to do some things in shootaround but not jump.”
In Adebayo’s absence, the Heat won their second straight game and ninth of the last 10. Kyle Lowry had a season-high 28 points while rookie Jaime Jaquez finished with 22 points. It was his fourth double-figures scoring game in the last five.
The Heat will evaluate Adebayo once again when they get situated in New York today. They play the Knicks Saturday at Madison Square Garden. It is a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference semifinals, won by the Heat.
“He was doing treatment around the clock (Wednesday),” Spoelstra said of Adebayo. “He’ll do it on Thanksgiving and we’ll just see.”
