Haaland, Silva, Stones – return dates ahead of Brighton

Manchester City have a few injury concerns ahead of the return to the Premier League this week as they look to take their place back at the top of the table.

After mixed success in the Champions League and FA Cup over the last week, City return to league action on Thursday night when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. After exiting the Champions League on penalties, City bounced back with a 1-0 win over Chelsea to book their place in the FA Cup final where they will come up against Man United.

Their involvement in the FA Cup means that both Arsenal and Liverpool could overtake them in the table with wins over the weekend. City however do now have a game in hand over their rivals.

Pep Guardiola has openly criticised the scheduling of fixtures over the last few days and the sheer number of games has led to some injury doubts for the trip to the south coast. With that in mind, here is a look at the latest from the treatment room at the Etihad Stadium.

The problem that saw Haaland substituted before extra time in the defeat to Real Madrid also kept him out of the squad to face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend. It means that the striker will be a doubt for the clash against Brighton.

What Guardiola has said: “He’s [Haaland] injured,” Guardiola told BBC Sport on Saturday. “I don’t think it’s much but he’s not able for today,” Guardiola said. “I don’t know [if he will be back for the next game].”
