Good news: Jackson Arnold Commits To Auburn & says….

Jackson Arnold, a highly regarded quarterback from the Class of 2023, has committed to Auburn University after two seasons with the Oklahoma Sooners. Auburn announced his signing on December 14, 2024, marking a significant addition to their football program.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 210 pounds, Arnold was a consensus five-star recruit out of Guyer High School in Denton, Texas. He was ranked as the No. 4 quarterback and No. 10 overall player in his class by 247Sports. During his high school career, he earned accolades such as the 2022 National Gatorade Player of the Year and Elite 11 MVP.

At Oklahoma, Arnold began the 2024 season as the starting quarterback but faced challenges, including a midseason benching. He regained his starting position later in the season, finishing with 1,421 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions over ten games. Additionally, he showcased his dual-threat capabilities by rushing for 444 yards and three touchdowns.

Auburn’s head coach, Hugh Freeze, expressed enthusiasm about Arnold’s fit for the Tigers’ offense, highlighting his proficiency with the run-pass option (RPO) system and his deep-ball accuracy. Freeze stated, “The fit he is for our offense and for Auburn, I couldn’t be more excited. He’s a dual-threat guy who understands the RPO system extremely well and throws the deep ball extremely well.”

Arnold’s decision to transfer was influenced by the opportunity to play in a system that aligns with his skills and the chance to compete at a high level. He noted the passion of Auburn’s coaching staff and the program’s prestigious history as factors in his commitment. “I know I’m wanted here,” Arnold remarked, emphasizing the welcoming environment at Auburn.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Arnold is expected to make an immediate impact on the Tigers’ offense. His arrival adds depth to the quarterback position, joining 2025 signee Deuce Knight, and is anticipated to elevate the team’s performance in the upcoming seasons. Coach Freeze added, “A winner. He’s going to create a swagger around … .”

Arnold’s commitment signifies a strategic move for Auburn as they aim to enhance their offensive capabilities and compete more effectively in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). His experience and skill set are poised to bring a new dynamic to the Tigers’ quarterback room, potentially leading to a more versatile and potent offensive attack.
