Good news: a harsh caption appeared a short while ago accusing Sky Sports of “doing Lando Norris dirty.”

Sky Sports accused of ‘doing Lando Norris dirty’ as brutal caption emerges

Sky Sports have been accused of “doing Lando Norris dirty” after using a brutal stat to caption his post-Hungarian Grand Prix interview.

Norris had to settle for second place again after his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri picked up a maiden grand prix victory at the Hungaroring. Piastri led the more senior driver for the majority of the race, having taken the lead on the first corner, before Norris managed to get in front by taking an earlier final pit stop.

The 24-year-old would go on to have a heated row on the team radio after being repeatedly instructed to allow Piastri to pass him, which he refused to do until just two laps remained. His race engineer reminded him of his responsibility to the team and claimed “I tried to protect you”, before he eventually backed down.

Norris cut a frustrated figure post-race after finishing as the runner-up, with Lewis Hamilton completing the podium spots. And his mood was unlikely to be improved by a seemingly savage dig by Sky Sports regarding his penchant for finishing second.

While the McLaren star glumly talked to the broadcaster about his race, they included a caption which read: “Lando Norris: Has finished 2nd 12 times in his career but only has 1 win.”

That sparked uproar on social media as one fan posted the clip with the comment: “They did Lando dirty.” Another pointed out that it was a “burn” on Sky Sports F1’s part. Others chimed in adding: “They’re just telling the facts as they are,” and: “Sky 1-0 Lando.”

Norris made his Formula One debut back in 2019. He has made 117 race starts but had to wait until the Miami Grand Prix this year to finally clinch his first win.
