Feyenoord hit back over ultras Celtic party warning as row escalates

Fans from Rotterdam are planning a big celebration in Glasgow ahead of the Champions League tie.

Feyenoord have been warned over a party their fans are planning in Glasgow ahead of facing Celtic.

The two sides meet in the Champions League on Wednesday evening in a clash that is a dead rubber with the two points accrued by Brendan Rodgers’ side meaning they are out of Europe and the Dutch side guaranteed third place in Group E and therefore will tumble into the Europa League.

Fans from Rotterdam are still planning to come over in their thousands and two of the club’s ultras groups are putting together a celebration in the city. De Noordzijde and the Rotterdam Radicals had members in the news in their homeland due to ‘misconduct’ and the city’s mayor is now telling the club they should be distancing themselves.

But the club has hit back, with a spokesperson said: “We do not tar everyone with the same brush and therefore do not exclude entire groups. It is wisest to maintain a constructive conversation and listen to each other, as a recent supporter survey commissioned by the municipality of Rotterdam has once again shown.”
