The quiet of Draymond Green Sunday was quite expressive.Speaking to the media for the first time since he choked out Rudy Gobert on November 14, Green was asked whether he had any response to remarks made by the Minnesota Timberwolves center just days after the Warriors’ defeat. Green was suspended by the NBA for five games.
“I mean, it’s 2023,” Green said to reporters following the Warriors’ practice at Chase Center. “These days, everything is visible. What can I say in response to what he said?”
Green chose not to respond to Gobert’s comments and remained silent for the next sixteen seconds.
Green questioned reporters, saying, “No comment is a comment, right?”
Shortly after the Warriors’ 104-101 defeat on November 14, Gobert attacked Green in the Timberwolves’ locker room.
“It’s kind of funny because I was telling myself before the game that Draymond is going to try to get ejected because Steph (Curry) is not playing,” Gobert remarked following the match (via Dane Moore). “Because Steph is his guy and he doesn’t want to play when he doesn’t play.” He’ll take any and all measures to be removed.
“I’m proud of myself for consistently being the bigger man. And indeed, he doesn’t even merit my touching him. Tonight, I was required by my squad. I made every effort to maintain my composure and demonstrate that I wasn’t aggravating the issue. I sincerely hope the league takes the necessary action, since that is simply absurd behavior. Not much to say. Clown behavior, that’s what.”
Although Green usually doesn’t bite his tongue, he chose to remain silent for 16 seconds during his 20-minute media session on Sunday, which says everything you need to know about his thoughts on Gobert’s remarks.
